How to Prepare Print-Ready Artwork for Banners, Magnets and Table Covers

Most delays on custom print orders come from artwork that is not ready to print. This checklist helps you get it right the first time.

1. Use the right file type

Send a high-resolution PDF, JPG or PNG. For DTF transfers and printed apparel, use a transparent-background PNG at 300 DPI.

2. Size it to your product

Make your file the size of the product you are ordering. Do not enlarge a small image, because it will look blurry when printed.

3. Add bleed and keep text safe

Extend backgrounds slightly past the edge, and keep logos and text inside the safe area so nothing is cut off or lost in a hem. Our car magnet and table runner pages include free templates that show these lines. Table covers need text at least 1 inch from the edge and a 0.5 inch bleed.

4. Use colors that will print well

Screen colors can look slightly different from the finished print, so leave room for small variations.

5. Check your spelling

We print your artwork as supplied, so check spelling, phone numbers and websites before you upload.
